Zigzag

After discovering that he is dying of a brain tumor, insurance investigator Kennedy decides to confess to an unsolved murder so his family will be provided for with the reward money. He carefully constructs a case against himself, and after his trial, he collapses. However, he undergoes new laser-beam surgery and fully recovers. Escaping from the hospital and with help of his attorney, Wallach, Kennedy discovers that Murphy, daughter of the murder victim's associate, was the mistress of the victim. Her father Brooke, the real killer, shoots Kennedy before being gunned down himself by the police. This quirky story is neatly handled and has some unusual twists.
