Directed by Buzz Kulik and scripted by veteran tele-writer Joanna Lee, this biopic tells the story of legendary showman Florenz Ziegfeld through the eyes of the many women in his life.

Determined to enter show business from the time he was a young man, Florenz "Flo" Ziegfeld (Paul Shenar) made his name as a producer of lavish stae (and later screen) spectacles that showcased the charms of leggy beauties, who became known collectively as "Ziegfeld Girls." Ziegfeld married early movie star Billie Burke (Samantha Eggar) -- best remembered as Glinda the good witch from THE WIZARD OF OZ -- and was linked with many other glamorous women of his day. This made-for-TV version of his life is considerably more accurate than early Hollywood versions, which downplayed his faults, and the the production values are unusually lavish. It's sometimes shown in a shortened 90-minute version.
