Katsu, a blind swordsman and masseur in feudal Japan, is talked into selling his services to Sugiyama, who is preparing to battle Sawamura. En route to Sugiyama, Katsu and a companion are attacked by three of Sawamura's men. Though his friend is murdered, Katsu manages to fight back and
kill the three. Next, he honors a dying man's request and accompanies Fujimura, a young woman, to her parents' home. She is kidnaped, but Katsu manages to find and rescue her thanks to the supersensory powers he has developed to overcome his blindness. Upon being returned home the girl is once
