An indulgent movie that was slightly too late to catch the "sex-comedy" trend begun by the Doris Day-Rock Hudson pictures. Lemmon's career was somewhat tarnished by this film, and he went into the critics' doghouse for a couple of years. He didn't much like the movie either and was quoted as saying it was "a real crock."
