You'Re The One

1941, Movie, NR, 83 mins

Only the songs are worth mention in this farce where Horton plays an agent trying to push the talents of his young star, Baker. After a number of inane and contrived situations she gets her chance to chirp a few tunes with Orrin Tucker's Orchestra. Even Horton, a highly talented comedian, was at the mercy of a totally inadequate script. Songs included: "Strawberry Lane," "I Could Kiss You for That," "My Resistance Is Low," "The Yogi Who Lost His Will Power," "Gee I Wish I'd Listened to My Mother" (Johnny Mercer, Jimmy McHugh), "Oh, Johnny, Oh" (Abe Olman, Ed Rose).
