Ankers knows she can receive a vast inheritance if she marries by her 24th birthday, which is exactly what she plans to do as she heads to Chicago to wed Bruce. On the train, however, O'Connor plays matchmaker and tricks big sister Ankers into marrying Jones. The newlywed's pursuit of her unloved spouse's signature on her checks creates most of the humor in this romantic comedy. High points come mostly from the supporting cast, including Moreland, Burke, and O'Connor (Donald's cousin). Songs and musical numbers include: "Your Eyes Have Told Me So" (Gus Kahn, Walter Blaufuss, Egbert Van Alstyne), "When You're Smiling" (Joe Goodwin, Mark Fisher, Larry Shay), "What Is This Thing Called Love" (Cole Porter), "On the Crest of a Rainbow" (Al Sherman, Harry Tobias), "You're a Lucky Fellow Mr. Smith" (Don Raye, Hughie Prince, Sonny Burke), "Soldier Specialty" (Inez James, Buddy Pepper). leave a comment
