Rich plays a struggling New York dressmaker whose ambition and desire to give her son the good life push her to success. She opens a boutique on Fifth Avenue at the time her son enters college. Rich is shocked when her son falls for a chorus girl who later attaches herself to sugar daddy Warner and builds a big tab at Rich's boutique.
