Rich plays a struggling New York dressmaker whose ambition and desire to give her son the good life push her to success. She opens a boutique on Fifth Avenue at the time her son enters college. Rich is shocked when her son falls for a chorus girl who later attaches herself to sugar daddy Warner and builds a big tab at Rich's boutique. The boy comes back from college still in love with the girl. Rich tries to get the girl to break it off by forcing the girl to pay her bill under the threat of exposure.
