This entertaining biography about two years in the boyhood of Menlo Park inventor Thomas A. Edison is made thoroughly enjoyable due to an energetic performance by Mickey Rooney. Rooney brings warmth and vitality to the title role as he goes about upsetting other people's lives with his experiments.
