A light, frothy comedy with Reid and Peters as a sibling pair of midwestern college students. Their mother, Astor, is a writer and lecturer (ironically, something Astor herself would later become). Astor is newly married to Marshall, a fellow professor, and the two kids do their best to split up the marriage. They don't have much success, and the whole plan goes out the window when Peters falls for Carlson, her dramatics teacher. This is an amusing little film, lacking in any real weight but entertaining nevertheless. It has several clever moments and the players take it in the intended spirit. The script was a real Hollywood rarity. It had been sent in over the transom by a college undergraduate and accepted for production with the author (Noble) hired for the rewrite. This picture also marked the beginning of a five-year contract with MGM for Astor. leave a comment
