Young Desire

1930, Movie, NR, 68 mins

Carnival kootch dancer Nolan falls madly in love with Janney, a handsome young man of higher social status. The romance, set against the backdrop of the carnival's hubbub, is ultimately doomed, and Nolan ends up killing herself. The production values aren't bad, and, despite the hackneyed plot, the story holds some interest. However, both leads are terribly miscast, which makes the film as hopeless as the story it tells. leave a comment
