Another pseudohistorical film finds Rogers as the famed western hero, remolded to fit the movie cowboy's persona. The standard, though entertaining, plot finds Rogers helping out the cavalry as they fight off an Indian attack on a Spanish ranch. Hayes plays Rogers' assistant, his usual
part, even further bungling any historical accuracy. Even so, the direction builds some excitement in an otherwise standard western outing. The film's only musical number, "Blow, Breeze, Blow," is a better-than-usual cowboy ballad.
