De Pasquale plays a struggling photographer who decides to move to Paris in hopes of getting a start--compelling his daughter, Bedoes, and wife, Blanguernon, to remain behind. Three years pass, and Blangueron, bored with her provincial life, also moves to Paris but becomes a model instead of reuniting with her husband, although a reconciliation of the small family does finally occur.
