The inane basis for this weak musical was having college girls being forced to ration their dates because of the unavailability of eligible men in wartime America. Suddenly the biggest wimp on campus becomes a stud when Rhodes decides to date him as part of a joke. She helps to bring out the ladies' man lurking underneath Johnston's nerdish exterior, and the first thing you know, every girl on campus starts to fall for him.
