You Better Watch Out

This unpleasant holiday picture revolves around a Santa who's definitely naughty, not nice. In fact, he's a murdering lunatic. Surprisingly intelligent and gripping, the tale stars the unknown and convincing Brandon Maggart as the fat, bearded Kris Kringle, who, as a young boy, underwent a trauma that has forever haunted him. The film sets itself apart from cheap, exploitive horror movies in that it spends time developing the murderous Santa's character. It's also expertly photographed by Ricardo Aronovich, a cameraman better known for his work with European directors Alain Resnais, Costa-Gavras, and Ettore Scola.
