Scripted by Jackie Collins--sister of Joan and author of such high-society potboilers as
Hollywood Wives and of numerous prime-time TV miniseries--YESTERDAY'S HERO tells the story of a has-been soccer player who again rises in the ranks. Suzanne Somers (TV's quintessential dippy blonde
in "Three's Company") is second-billed as the woman who gets hooked up with the soccer player, Ian McShane. Paul Nicholas is cast as a pop star who owns the team, giving the filmmakers a feeble excuse to toss in some equally feeble music.
