A sappy, predictable piece about a romance between Claire Pimpare, a French-Canadian art student, and Vincent Van Patten, an American who is studying in Montreal and trying to decide whether he should fight in Vietnam. She gets pregnant; he goes to war and dies. But--surprise--he's really not dead and a tearful reunion follows. This story has been told a thousand times, usually much better than it was here. leave a comment
