Based on a German play that was produced in London under the title "Business with America," this disappointing musical comedy was codirected by its star, suave song-and-dance man Buchanan. The ambitious Vienna representative of a U.S.-based company, Buchanan hopes the visit of his American boss, Power, will lead to an offer of partnership. A tiff with wife Grahame leads to her untimely departure, so Buchanan recruits his secretary, Randolph, to pose as his wife. The ruse blows up in his face, but all's well that ends well, as Power and Randolph fall for each other and Buchanan's "old secretary" returns to the U.S. with his "new partner."
