A Yank At Oxford

This first British production for MGM was also the film that revived Robert Taylor's career. Lee Sheridan (Taylor), a college track star and the brash son of a small-town newspaper publisher (Lionel Barrymore), is sent to Oxford after a dean gets him into the prestigious university. He arrives at Oxford convinced he'll show these Brits a thing or two, but he's soon taken down several pegs. Lee becomes enamored of Molly Beaumont (Maureen O'Sullivan), who unfortunately turns out to be the sister of one of his biggest rivals. Gradually, Lee becomes more accepting of Oxford traditions, and his popularity grows as he and his British friends learn mutual tolerance. A YAN...
