Martin stars in the fourth and final "Matt Helm" entry as the debonair secret agent who again saves the world from doom. This time he and Tate prevent the world's economy from a catastrophe as a crime ring headed by Green hijacks $1 billion in gold. Green's plan is eventually foiled, but only after countless fights, chases, and murders. Tate, in a straightforward comedy role as a bumbling assistant agent, turns in the film's finest performance, though her career would come to an abrupt end in murder just a few months after the picture's release. To aid her with the kung-fu scenes that the script emphasized, Columbia hired Bruce Lee to train her. Also appearing in the picture was young karate star Chuck Norris, who would soon become quite a box-office name himself. leave a comment
