1958, Movie, NR, 82 mins

O'Brien is a defense attorney who's never lost a case. In this courtroom drama he defends a ship captain who is almost certainly guilty of criminal negligence when his ship sinks, killing 162 passengers. Everyone, including O'Brien's wife, Freeman, becomes disillusioned and abandons the lawyer, but by the finale O'Brien has pinned the guilt on a ship's mate who had it in for the captain. Although bogged down by the usual courtroom melodrama this is generally watchable. leave a comment
