Bancroft, a mercenary sea captain, sticks out his neck in order to save Russian emigre dancer Hopkins, who also happens to be involved with Mowbray, a grand duke. Bancroft proves that he is a better lover than a fighter when, in the finale, Hopkins is the only one of the fleeing Russians to make it successfully to safety in France. leave a comment
