Kyra Sedgwick isn't too proud to admit she's no longer on Hollywood's A-list. "To be perfectly frank, there was a time when I was on a really fast trajectory [towards movie stardom]," says the 39-year-old actress. "Then, I got married and had kids. And you know what? I kind of blew it.
"I didn't
really blow it, of course," she adds, "but I stopped my own flow. I met the right person, we wanted to have kids and we did. Somewhere along the way, doing studio pictures just stopped for me and I don't know why. But I can tell you that it's my road and it won't look like anyone else's and for that, I'm very proud."
The latest stop on Sedgwick's career path is a just-released indie film, The Woodsman. She plays Vickie, a woman with a troubled past who falls in love with Walter, a convicted pedophile recently released from prison. Tough stuff, made even tougher by the fact that Sedgwick's co-star in the movie is her real-life husband Kevin Bacon

Memo to Hollywood's casting agents: Benjamin Bratt's schedule is completely open. "I have no job prospects on the horizon," admits the former Law & Order star. "The last job I worked on was Catwoman, which wrapped in February, so I haven't worked in ten months. But I'm not worried yet — it's allowed me to focus my attention on my family, which is my favorite thing to do."
Bratt does have a small part in the just-released indie film The Woodsman. He plays the genial brother-in-law of a convicted pedophile named Walter (played by Kevin Bacon). "My character's willingness to forgive and forget is a bit simplistic," admits the 41-year-old actor. "He simply wants to patch up the family and, in a straight-forward way, he feels like Walter paid his debt to society. I think there's something wrongheaded about that. Personally, I would have handled the situation in a completely different way. I don't know if I could ever forgive someon

Most Hollywood stars rely on their agents, managers or personal psychics to find their next film part, but Kevin Bacon discovered his latest project, The Woodsman, by taking a stroll on the beach.
"My family and I were in the British West Indies [last] Christmas," the 46-year-old actor remembers. "It was Christmas Eve and I was walking along the beach and I saw this guy who I knew peripherally. He said to me, 'Someone sent me this script and asked me to invest in it. Would you read it and tell me if you think it would be a good investment?'"
"Normally, I would never take a screenplay under those conditions," Bacon continues. "You'd spend your whole life reading scripts if you took them from people on beaches. But I got home in early January and the script was sitting there. I picked it up and read it and went on this ride of feelings. I put it down and knew that it was probably going to be my next movie."
Not even the film's dark subject matte
