Young, well cast against type, plays a man charged with the murder of his wife. On the witness stand Young's story is related in flashback. A broker on Wall Street, he is married to Johnson, a wealthy woman he uses for her money. When Young meets Greer, a writer, the two begin a short affair. Greer wants to end it and goes to Montreal, but Young claims he will divorce his wife and follow her.
