Stevens is cast as vaudeville singer-songwriter Joe Howard, while Haver poses as his kid sister and manages to woo him away from sultry European star Aubert. The backstage sets of turn-of-the-century Broadway are often fascinating. Buddy Clark did the dubbing for all of Stevens' vocals. The songs include: "I Wonder Who's Kissing Her Now" (Joe Howard, Frank Adams, Will Hough, Harold Orlob), "Honeymoon," "What's the Use of Dreaming?" (Howard, Hough), "Hello My Baby" (Howard, Ida Emerson), "Oh, Gee, Be Sweet to Me Kid," "How'd You Like to Be the Umpire?" (Howard, Hough, Adams), "Goodbye My Lady Love" (Howard), with additional songs by Charles Henderson and producer Jessel. leave a comment
