Stevens is cast as vaudeville singer-songwriter Joe Howard, while Haver poses as his kid sister and manages to woo him away from sultry European star Aubert. The backstage sets of turn-of-the-century Broadway are often fascinating. Buddy Clark did the dubbing for all of Stevens' vocals.
