Cry Wolf

Barbara Stanwyck is a grieving widow who arrives at her husband's family home and surprises the other members of the clan, who had no idea that the deceased was married. Stanwyck admits that it was a marriage in name only, done so that the dead man would be able to inherit a large fortune that was being held by his uncle, Flynn. A divorce was to follow in short order and Miss Stanwyck would get a fee for marrying the would-be legatee. Flynn is suspicious of Stanwyck and she returns the raised eyebrows.
