A film with a lot of heart that, unfortunately, never gels as a whole. Danny Morgan (John Shea) is a postman-struggling writer in love with two people: Emily Reubens (Kate Capshaw), his ex-girl friend who is about to be married, and Sol (Josh Mostel), his best friend slowly dying from
leukemia. In the rambling story (told in a series of flashbacks), Danny learns to cope with his pal's impending death, his own angst, and his longing for Emily. Shea is excellent as a young man caught between his different loyalties. Mostel and Capshaw are equally fine as the two closest to him.
