Trevor Howard is sadly miscast as the title character of this western oddity, which was filmed in the Cheyenne and Crow languages (with English subtitles). Howard's presence in the role of an aging Cheyenne chief who, on his deathbed, tells his life story (his voice is dubbed) strikes
the only unauthentic note here. A beautifully photographed attempt at representing Native American life.
