The Wind And The Lion

1975, Movie, PG, 119 mins

starstarstarstar
Jingoistic to a fault, this stirring historical adventure from writer-director John Milius is nevertheless an interesting look at the dawn of US interventionism. Sean Connery stars as a rebellious Arab chieftain who seizes an American woman (Candice Bergen) and her children in North Africa. President Teddy Roosevelt (an excellent Brian Keith) threatens to send in the Marines if he doesn't release them, but when he does, the chief is immediately captured by invading German troops.
