Lane is the leader of a group of wild children who live in South America, picking through garbage to find food and often having to battle stray animals for their keep. Lane brings into the gang Sterling, the group's only woman. They plan to rob a wealthy family, but a rival gang leader threatens to inform, and Lane kills him in self-defense. Poor health and accidents plague the gang on the run, and lawmen inevitably capture both Lane and Sterling. Though they escape, Sterling falls prey to smallpox and dies in Lane's arms. Though THE WILD PACK took top honors at the Moscow Film Fest, it is not without problems, especially in the casting of a pair of blue-eyed blondes as Brazilians. Above all, the film lacks subtlety. Songs: "When I See a Star" (Dorival Caymmi, Louis Oliveira), "When the Sun Starts Shining Through" (Guilherme Lamounier), "Sing with Me" (Lamounier), "Dora" (Caymmi, Oliveira). leave a comment
