The Wild Duck: Review

A faithful adaptation of Ibsen's play about the relationships between a mother (Seberg), her egotistical husband (Kern), and their daughter (Bennent) who sacrifices her own life, instead of that of a captive wild duck, to gain her unloving father's approval. Beautifully photographed by Robby Mueller, best known for his work with Wim Wenders. The following year Ganz, here cast as the childhood friend of Kern, and Mueller worked together on Wender's THE AMERICAN FRIEND. (In German; English subtitles.) leave a comment
