A faithful adaptation of Ibsen's play about the relationships between a mother (Seberg), her egotistical husband (Kern), and their daughter (Bennent) who sacrifices her own life, instead of that of a captive wild duck, to gain her unloving father's approval. Beautifully photographed by Robby Mueller, best known for his work with Wim Wenders.
