"If they move... kill 'em." An extraordinarily well-made film about anachronistic outlaws in the early 20th century, Sam Peckinpah's greatest achievement feels like it should have been the final western. Like Bonnie & Clyde two years before, this harsh yet elegaic story upped the ante on American screen violence.
