1975, Movie, PG, 101 mins

In the midst of South Africa's apartheid government Poitier, a political agitator, links up with Caine, an Englishman in trouble with the law. Williamson, a bigoted cop, pursues the two. He wants them to lead him to De Graf, the head of the black activist movement. The film essentially is a well-done chase picture that says little about the political turmoil raging in South Africa at the time. However, the actors give real life to their characters and flesh out the story to some extent. The direction is routine action filmmaking with no originality. The film, therefore, is both exciting and flat all at once. Actor Dantine, long absent from films, plays a small part as a prosecutor. He was also the picture's executive producer. leave a comment
