Treat Williams is a thoroughly unlikable fellow who wants to keep the $1 million inheritance his parents have left him and his siblings. When, inexplicably, the repugnant heir is hired as a social worker, he gets caught up in the case of Gabriel Swann, a youngster taken from his wrongfully jailed mother and placed into a foster home. Williams takes the boy under his wing and meets Lisa Eichhorn, a feminist retreat worker, and the film rumbles predictably along. Williams and Eichhorn have good chemistry, though Swann is the best the film has to offer, making a nice screen debut as the unhappy child. leave a comment
