Mickey Isadore (Buttons) is a diabetic ex-boxer who becomes interested in the slaying of a Greenwich Village hooker. After his release from the hospital, Mickey begins his own investigation of the crime. With the help of his daughter, Della (Playten), and residents of the Village, Mickey
puts the clues together and eventually draws out the killer. Although it is hardly one of the best films of the 1970s, this comedy murder mystery boasts an unusual premise and excellent work from the supporting cast, including Sam Waterston as an unscrupulous filmmaker, Conrad Bain as an
unemployed insurance salesman, and Gilbert Lewis as the cop assigned to the case.
