Who Killed Jessie?

After inventing a machine that shows a sleeper's dreams on a screen, scientist Medricka uses it to see what goes on in her husband's (Sovak) head after hours. His dreams are populated by some cartoonish characters, including Shoberova, a Daisy Mae type who is chased by nasty cowpoke Effa. Also after her is Visny, a muscle-bound superhero. These dreams surprise the prim scientist, and she tries to manipulate them, with disastrous results. The machine malfunctions, causing the dream characters to appear in the flesh in the couple's apartment. This is marvelous comedy, full of unusual slapstick and some great inventive moments.
