Working under Camron's command, the other three leading players--using their own well-known names in the roles--join a medicine show in order to catch a gang of bank robbers. This gives them a chance to display their several talents: Maynard does roping and trick riding; Dean sings a few numbers; Terhune does his ventriloquist act. The volatile McKenzie adds humor as the proprietor of the traveling show. Roman is the very minor romantic interest, a role she essayed in a number of westerns before her critical success in CHAMPION (1949). Released briefly as HARMONY TRAIL in 1944. leave a comment
