White Heat

Another story of moral and physical degeneration in the tropics, so popular in the early 1930s. Sugar plantation manager Newell has settled into his job, finding a measure of happiness in the attentions of native girl Maris, but inner insecurity pushes him into marriage to San Francisco socialite Cherrill. His pampered wife's adjustment to island life fails to take. Bored by her lonely life and the daily rains, she nearly succumbs to the blandishments of a handsome native lad.
