Brady is a rough, tough officer of a US cargo ship who discovers, while docking in London, that his brother is to be executed for murder in just three days. The crime was pinned on the brother by a gang of diamond smugglers led by attorney Tapley, who defended the brother at his murder trial. Brady prowls the waterfront dives seeking a solution to the crime. Beset by thugs and beaten, he manages to meet Castle, a singer in one of the waterfront hangouts of the crooks. Working together, they solve the case and Brady embarks with Castle in his arms. A rather weak script is saved by some good cinematography in this routine thriller. The coproducers both served extensive time behind the camera. Apparently designed for the overseas market with its two American leading players, the picture opened in Britain two years after its US release. leave a comment
