While The Sun Shines

A forced farce in which Colleano, a drunken American soldier, and Allan, a suave Frenchman, vie for White. The problem is that she is already engaged to Howard, a British sailor who also happens to be a wealthy earl. Matters are complicated because Colleano puts the moves on White when he meets her in Howard's apartment. The direction never convinces the viewer that this story was meant to be told anywhere but on the stage. The son of the very talented Leslie Howard played the earl, showing something less than the talent of his father.
