What's Up, Doc?: Review

Peter Bogdanovich's attempt to revive the screwball comedy genre is more imitation than homage, especially if you've seen Howard Hawks's classic Bringing Up Baby. Still, the film has plenty of good 1930s slapstick and cartoon humor to more than hold your attention. Ryan O'Neal stars as a clumsy professor from Iowa who checks into a San Francisco hotel with his fiancee (Madeline Kahn)and a suitcase full of ancient rocks. Other guests with identical suitcases, including the breezy Barbra Streisand, are also checking in, and naturally, the suitcases get hopelessly mixed up. Read the complete review for What's Up, Doc?
