What You Take For Granted

1984, Movie, NR, 75 mins

A tedious pseudodocumentary that dramatically reconstructs interviews with women working in jobs usually reserved for men. These interviews are then intercut with unconvincing fictional scenes of the women relating on and off the job. The film concentrates most on Cloud and Lachman and follows them to the end of the movie when they embark on a lesbian relationship. Some audiences may find this picture telling, but most will quickly turn off. Photographed on 16mm and funded with grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Alumni Fund of Northwestern University's School of Speech. leave a comment
