Wetbacks

Bridges plays the owner of a fishing boat that is the center of attraction for a couple of smugglers who want to use it to ship illegal immigrants across the Mexican border. Members of the US Immigration Department, in the guise of Gates and MacLane, are also interested in Bridges helping them nab Hoyt and Peary. The script badly needs reworking, relying too much on old tricks, such as the chase across the water, to make it work. Bridges performs in the manner he is most remembered for, the confident yet careful adventurer of the television series "Sea Hunt."
