Brown stars as a lawman in Gordontown defending the townspeople against the shenanigans of Prosser, who unsuccessfully attempts to make the town his own by killing Bradford, its chief figure. A muddled subplot has Bradford's children arriving in town to be duped by Prosser's assistant,
Worth, who pretends to be their mother. Despite a corpulence that might dismay many of his fans, Brown cavorts quite nimbly, doing the best he can with the material he is given.
