Hospital nurse Shirley, briefly wed to a West Point cadet football hero, has had her marriage annulled (in a most unlikely plot line), despite her resulting pregnancy, in order to protect her husband's budding military career. Her secret plan is to remarry the gridiron great following his graduation from the military academy, which bans marriage for cadets. She keeps her own counsel about the child that resulted from her legitimate, but all too brief, union. Interne Carlson, smitten with Shirley, discovers the secret of her baby daughter.
