Considering the fine cast, this peacetime service melodrama never delivered what was promised as Beery turned in his typecast, tough father role to Young's carefree son role. Dad wants his boy to grow up to be the best flyer in the world's best army, but Junior would rather make eyes at
the sultry Russell. By the finale, he redeems himself and pairs up with O'Sullivan, the army commandant's "nice" daughter. For some reason, both women characters are given rather ludicrous names: O'Sullivan is "Skip" and Russell is "Dare." Taylor had only one or two lines but, as always, he looked
pretty.
