Lynch is a young man living a wasted life who makes the acquaintance of Portman, an ex-army man. Lynch agrees to murder Portman's aunt, believing that he needs an emotional shock to get back on the main road of life. He prepares to kill the old woman but loses his nerve and accidentally
pushes her down a flight of stairs, killing her. After a witness reports to the police, Lynch loses whatever nerve he has left and turns himself in. Never is any sympathy given to either character, and there is little or no audience involvement in their situation. Songs include: "West 11" (Stanley
