Werewolf Of Washington: Review

The laughs are few and far between in this political horror spoof in which reporter Jack Whittier (Dean Stockwell) of the White House press corps endangers his career by having an affair with the president's daughter. He takes an assignment in Budapest, hoping to lay low until the heat dies down, but is bitten by a gypsy werewolf and takes on the curse of the beast himself. Meanwhile, the President (Biff McGuire), believing Jack was run out of town for his editorial views, magnanimously invites him to return to Washington and take a job as aide to the ourspoken Attorney General (Clifton James). Washington is soon gripped by a rash of wolf attacks that the police blame on dirty hippies. It's such a bizarre idea that one really wants it to be funny, but the promise is never fulfilled, and the picture ultimately disappoints. leave a comment
