A fun entry in Universal's six-picture "Inner Sanctum" series stars Chaney as a college professor who returns from an island vacation with an exotic bride, Gwynne, who was reared by the natives. Former girl friend Ankers has a jealous streak which gets the better of her and she spreads
rumors that Gwynne is an evil spirit who practices island voodoo rites. When a couple of deaths follow, the neighbors begin to believe the whisperings. The finale, however, proves Ankers to be the one responsible, causing her to scream (one of her juiciest), leap off a roof, and hang herself from
